Single Glass/Safety Glass
If your house was built before 1970, there is a good chance that it retains its original windows with single pane glass. Our vans carry a good selection of single glass which can be cut to size and replaced on the same day.
Standard annealed 4mm clear float glass is the most common glazing found in traditional properties because it is cost-effective and light enough for traditional counterbalanced Victorian sash windows.
We stock large sheets of 4mm annealed glass which can be cut to size, as required for supply only or fitting if required.
Annealed glass is also stocked in the less popular thickness of 6mm. We also keep in stock various colours of putty and low modulus, neutral cure silicone.
Obscure options of annealed glass (which can also be toughened) are plentiful and offer the customer a range of privacy levels and decorative options. Our obscured glass range is from Pilkington (NSG Ltd) and can be viewed at the link below:

Safety and Security Single Glazing
Safety and security single glazing is a common upgrade to standard annealed glass and we provide two options which are compliant in critical areas.
4mm toughened safety glass is a great alternative to standard annealed glass if you at all worried about anyone cutting themselves should the glass break. Customers often change older door or window glass, which no longer complies to safety regulations to toughened glass as the thickness is identical for a straight swap and upon breakage the glass shatters completely into small pieces, less likely to cause serious injury. The disadvantage of toughened safety glass is the time length required to obtain it (5-10 working days) and the fact it cannot be altered subsequently. However, it is up to 6x stronger than standard annealed glass making it ideal for multiple uses from table tops to balustrades.
Laminated safety glass is the second alternative with the benefit of being able to be cut to size and altered, and increased thermal, sound and security advantages. Laminated glass is available in a number of thicknesses and is actually comprised of two sheets of glass sandwiched together with a polyvinyl layer. This has the benefit of the glass being held together on breakage which makes this a safer glass and a better option for security because the glass is harder to break through.
